Definitions of Terms by sshadess
I have used my own Rappelz Rupees to knowledge the definitions of terms, and now here I take out this cowry to share everyone who like playing Rappelz Online.
The point of this guide is to condense some information that is spread out over a good chunk of the forum into a place where it is easy to access. This guide primarily revolves around the threat and aggro system of this game and its mechanics. It is targeted primarily at tanks though other classes may be mentioned the necessary to Buy Rappelz Rupees.
1. Aggro
This is a term that describes who a mob is aggressive toward at a given time. The person who has aggro is the one the mob is attacking. An aggressive mob which is within range of a player, has not been attacked, and has not linked with another mob will generally aggro the nearest player or pet to Buy Rappelz Gold. It will have zero threat or some trivial amount towards that player or pet.
2. Aggro Range
There is a specific distance within which an aggressive mob can spontaneously aggro a player or pet. The aggro range is different for different mobs. In particular, dungeons mobs often have a much longer aggro range than normal mobs. The aggro range is different for players than it is for pets. It is usually a very short distance and Cheap Rappelz Rupees for pets.
3. Threat
AKA Hate or Aggro by some, I will use this term to refer to the running tally that is kept by each mob of all of the aggressive actions done to it. Whoever has caused the most threat to a mob generally has aggro. For normal attacks, 1 point of damage deals 1 point of threat. This is true regardless of the level of the player dealing the damage, whether it is caused by a critical, or whether it is caused by a pet. There are buffs that can modify the threat done by Rappelz Gold normal attacks. Skills do not necessarily follow this rule.
